Hi Karen, I played clarinet, way back when...on that level. Made it into state band, and all that stuff. But, when it came to the band, I played oboe, saxophone and even attempted to play tenor saxophone. At one point I play tri-pod drums and that was cool too. The trick to music, is WANTING to make it. Don't think of re-alighting those synapses that let you play the flute so well as work. Think of the work as an experience within your soul.
