In photography, bokeh is the blur,^[1][2] or the aesthetic quality of the blur,^[3][4][5] in out-of-focus areas of an image, or "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light."^[6] Differences in lens aberrations and aperture shape cause some lens designs to blur the image in a way that is pleasing to the eye, while others produce blurring that is unpleasant or distracting— "good" or "bad" bokeh, respectively.^[1] Bokeh occurs for parts of the scene that lie outside the depth of field. Photographers sometimes deliberately use a shallow focus technique to create images with prominent out-of-focus regions.

Bokeh is often most visible around small background highlights, such as specular reflections and light sources, which is why it often associated with such areas.^[1] However, bokeh is not limited to highlights, as blur occurs in all out-of-focus regions of the image.

This is just a quick pic from the summer. We went letterboxing in Spring Hill (along with the letterbox we also got chiggers) at a beautiful plantation. The wall is around a cemetery that dates back to the 1800's.

Munchkin took dance lessons last year at a local dance studio. They got to have their recital at Belmont and this red wall was a perfect backdrop. She loved the sunflower her teacher gave her after the recital.

The other day we got some snow while I was at work. When I got home I saw that the kids had been outside playing. I pulled the car in and shone my headlights on the snow angels that my angels made.

When we moved here 8 years ago I was so impressed with the icicles. That has not waned. These are on the rocks near my job. I hopped out of the car and snapped a few shots. I am sure the people passing in their nice heated vehicles thought I was insane.

January 3, 2009 - Happy Birthday

Today is my husbands birthday. We had a little party at Pie in the Sky Pizza. If you have been to Pie in the Sky, they have a room that has huge garage doors. That was the room we were in and the sun was shining right on us. It was bright and not terrible friendly for the photos.
